A TRAVEL GUIDE
Field Notes: Kingston
As you may or may not know, we recently moved back to the Hudson Valley from Brooklyn. After spending 5 (ish) years in the city it was time to quench our thirst for nature. We strongly believe that the Hudson Valley is one of the most beautiful, welcoming places on this earth — it’s our happy place.
While the Hudson Valley has become more known and appreciated over the years, we we’re born and raised here! Our intention is to introduce you to things old and new – a true “locals guide” for spending your time here, whether you’re here for the weekend or here to stay.
Restaurants —
The food scene is flourishing in Kingston. French, Mexican and Italian cuisine are effortlessly offered from restaurants native to Kingston and some that have yet to celebrate their one year anniversary. The quick bite, no-effort needed food stops are just as impressive. This list is by no means comprehensive, but simply our most frequented stops.

The Great Outdoors —
While yes, Kingston is technically a city there are plenty of places to catch mother earth doing her thing. More recently there has been major investment in expanding access to the outdoors, with the Empire State Trail now traversing through uptown, midtown and downtown. (Catch us riding our bikes to Westkill in the warmer months!). The Hudson River also has a bunch of parks, new and old, dotting its coast!

The Arts—
Just kidding, if there’s one thing we do well here it’s making art. Makers and artists have been inspired by the Hudson Valley for centuries and there is no sign of that stopping. While you will always be surrounded by creatives in these parts, some places to catch their work are the two noted art spaces below.

Lodging—
The lodging options here are experiential, located in unique settings that highlight what it means to be in the Hudson Valley — surrounded by nature and beautiful quality craftsmanship. Being able to rest your head in a calm, comfortable space at night is very important to us, but these spaces offer so much more than that.
